Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II has always been considered as the sitting room of the city. Designed by Giuseppe Mengoni and inaugurated in 1877, the Gallery was built to connect Teatro alla Scala and Piazza Duomo.
Its restoration has just ended on the occasion of the Expo opening, and now the Gallery shows its old magnificence.
Even the roof gangway has been renewed and now it is possible to walk on it. This way people can see the gallery from a new closer perspective, admiring the gallery’s and dome’s details together with few spots of Milan Cathedral.
