- stay under the gate to benefit from a view rich in contrasts
Porta Garibaldi is one of the 6 main ancient gates of Milan. Built at the beginning of the 19th century on the ruins of a medieval gate, it is flanked by 2 side passages and two ancient customs houses.
Today it is located in the centre of Piazza XXV Aprile, as the heart of a truly iconic city area.
In fact, in the former Teatro Smeraldo, there’s today Eataly, the shopping mall offering the best of the Italian gastronomic excellence either to eat at one of the many thematic restaurants or to buy and take away. From Piazza XXV Aprile departs Corso Como, one of Milan’s “movida” streets, leading to Piazza Gae Aulenti and Porta Nuova.
